A natural and sustainable way to capture CO2 is photosynthesis. One of the fastest-growing photosynthetic plants are microalgae.
Why are we doing this project?
Work in this area is aimed at solving the following problems:
– utilization of industrial CO2 emissions
– wastewater treatment
– greening the surrounding environment
The tasks we solve
selection of microalgae strains
photobioreactor engineering
selection of optimal cultivation conditions
Results obtained
An experimental plant was created to directly determine the rate of CO2 capture by microalgae
An experimental plant was created to test the viability of microalgae in a real flue gas environment
A photobioreactor system was created for the simultaneous testing of various microalgae strains and cultivation conditions.
We found the optimal spectrum and intensity of illumination for photobioreactors with microalgae
Highly efficient photobioreactors with a developed surface of working suspension for the effective utilization of CO2 by microalgae have been created
Microalgae strains have been selected for efficient CO2 utilization and wastewater treatment
